Who can join the online tournament?
Anyone with a Chess.com account.
It’s free to enter and open to all skill levels — no rating required.
How do I qualify for the IRL Championship?
Place among the top finishers in the online qualifier.
Invited titled players and select high-rated applicants will also be competing in Roatán.
What’s the prize for the online tournament?
The winner gets flown to Roatán with accommodation covered.
Other top performers will earn a guaranteed seat at the IRL championship.
Is the IRL event open to everyone?
Yes — even if you’re not competing.
Attend to watch the games, play casual matches, join coaching sessions, and network at the café.
What’s the chess format?
Chess960 with 15+10 time control.
Swiss format for both online and IRL tournaments.
